Houston Colon & Rectal Surgery docs Khawaja Azimuddin and Tal Raphaeli were awarded accreditation in the field of Robotic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation.

SRC is a nonprofit, patient safety organization that provides accreditations for surgical facilities and medical professionals who demonstrate excellence in the field of Robotic Surgery. Robotic surgery is used for treatment of colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis and colitis.

RAS allows surgeons to perform many types of complex procedures with precision, flexibility and control. Seated at the surgeon console of a da Vinci Surgical System, surgeons have 3DHD vision supplied by an endocope-mounted camera. They control instruments with fully wristed dexterity inspired by the human hand—but with a greater range of motion.

This prestigious award is a testimony to the fact that our surgeons are among a handful of doctors in America who have achieved this recognition. Surgical Review Corporation accredits the top facilities, surgeons and medical professionals worldwide that meet the proven standards of excellence in their respective fields.
