I visited Dr. Azmuddin for a routine colonoscopy, and he did an excellent job. He is very competent, intelligent, and friendly. For the first time, I experienced almost no recovery time from the procedure. After a short stay in the hospital, I walked out with my husband to enjoy a large breakfast. I am also pleased that Dr Azmuddin gave me a choice of 2 good hospitals: Houston Methodist-Willowbrook and St. Lukes. I chose Houston Methodist, and was very happy with all of their services. More

I normally do not leave reviews, I am almost 4 months out from my surgery. I was so impressed with Dr. Azimuddin, he was very caring and empathetic with my concerns about my colon fistula surgery and post op pain management and my medications that I just could not stop taking that I had been on for years, He took the time and sat at his desk with me and went over my medications, records and concerns (fears...lol) that I had. Dr Azi did not know, but my daughter was the one who found him as I had been to another facility and decided I was not going to do this surgery, but after talking with Dr. Azi, I just felt like I was in good hands. I could see he took his work, patients and skills very seriously. Every staff member who worked with him had nothing but great things to say about this Dr. and everything we discussed; Dr Azi lived up to his words!! The ERAS pain management worked incredibly well with me, I was surprised how well it did work, that I did not need any opioids and I was not in any pain with this protocol, I was up and walking pretty quickly after surgery and released to go home 2 days after my surgery. During my last appointment, I joked with him and asked if he could do any and all my surgeries I would need because back in the day, General Surgeons were allowed to. The Best! - I had hernia surgery by Dr Azimuddin on March 5th and if it were not for the band aids and my hernia bulge gone, I would not have known I had surgery. On the pain scale 1 to 10. My gastroenterologist referred me to Dr. Azimuddin for a large benign colon polyp that was found during a routine colonoscopy.Upon my initial visit on November 17th, it was recommended that I undergo a robotically assisted partial colectomy & anastomosis (Part of my colon where the large polyp was removed and the remaining colon reattached). My dad (who had accompanied me to my appointment) asked if the polyp could be removed endoscopically and unfortunately, Dr. Azi (As his patients call him) said no, due to the size of the polyp.Dr. Azi took the time to explain why the surgery had to be done and how it was to be achieved.His explanation was very thorough & left me and my dad with no further questions and my decision to undergo the procedure.All in all, Dr. Azi showed excellent bedside manner and showed exemplary professionalism in his interaction with me & my dad. I’ve been under Dr. Azimuddin care since April of 2023. After numerous er visits this year I needed emergency surgery in July. And needed a second surgery in October. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to have my reversal surgery due to an insurance issue. But somehow Dr. Azi and his team made it happen. We walked in and the first thing I noticed was how clean the waiting room was and how friendly the staff was. My appointment was at 2:00pm, about 1:55 I was in the exam room,moments latter Dr. Azimuddin and a assistant introduced them self's and it was right to work. Many questions were asked, I was examined very much in detail and very with comfort,no stress, no pain. We then were (daughter and I) taken into Dr. Azimuddin's office, againthe doctor explained in detail what my problem was and what the plan of action was. A hospital visit is planned for more test, the appointments made while we were in the doctors office so no conflict with dates. All of this took less than a hour, all an all this was the most informative, efficient, Doctors visit I've made. More

I am 7 weeks out from Hemorrhoidectomy Surgery for stage 3 and 4 internal and external hemorrhoids, done by Dr. Azimuddin. I have to tell you this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I first experienced hemorrhoids over 30 years ago, but it has gotten worse in the last 5 years. After every bowel movement I have had to push the hemorrhoids back in, and had to sit down for 30min to an hour and wait for the swelling to go down. I had to change jobs from one where I walked alot to a desk job. Because too much standing and walking would cause my hemorrhoids to come out, and sometimes bleed. I love to golf, but I could never walk the course, due to hemorrhoids, I had to have a cart to sit down on to push my hemorrhoids back in. Dr. Azimuddin did a fantastic job, I no longer have hemorrhoids, it is so strange not to have them. I can walk, jog, and run w/o worrying about hemorrhoids now. I am a New Man! But the surgery is not a Cake Walk, the first 3-4 days were really tough! You have to listen to Dr. Azimuddin and keep your stools soft! The first 3-4 days the pain is the worst, but trust me it gets better. After the first week I felt better. You will feel much better two weeks out, and was able to go back to work. But still took it easy. After 6 weeks you should be back to normal, and living your new active life. I am back to my normal diet, but have added a daily stool softener to my diet. It just makes it easier to have bowel movements. If you do nothing your life will not change, if it is time, let Dr. Azimuddin do his thing! He did an Amazing Job on me, I am forever grateful! More

After 2 surgeries from an ER doctor and one from another doctor, my fistula kept flaring up. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr Azimuddhin, and I was convinced to go for a third surgery. Right after the surgery I felt this time it would be all fixed. Because he did the procedure so clean and the incision was thoroughly stitched. I found Dr. Azi in 2018 when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was extremely impressed from the first visit and trust his judgment on what needs to be done. He has an awesome bedside manner and truly cares for his patients. (His sense of humor isn't too bad, either!) He is very thorough and made sure I understood exactly what was going to happen. The next day, I called to ask if they would prescribe zofran because I was throwing up several times a day which was very painful to the surgery site as well, and I was told it would be prescribed to my pharmacy. The pharmacy never received the prescription. The doctor was perfectly nice at my postop, and the surgery was fine, but his front office must not be communicating and not doing their job and that was very frustrating. More

I started having extreme pain and had suffered for 2 weeks. I had gone to another Dr. who prescribed some medication but the issue kept getting worse. Dr. Azimuddin was my surgeon for a required total colectomy. Naturally, having to have a complicated surgery was incredibly scary and the recovery process was difficult. Dr. Azimuddin was wonderful, though, throughout -- leading up to the surgery, the surgery itself and the recovery process. He is very direct and frank, which I appreciate greatly. Most importantly, my surgical results were about the best you can have with this type surgery. I had no complications from the actual surgery and my recovery process -- albeit difficult -- was easier than what most patients experience with a total colectomy. After several Doctors failed to determine the source of my pain, I was lucky at last to have my gynecologist confirm it was a colon problem and that I needed to seek out the help of a specialist. Due to a tropical storm my appointment was cancelled so I decided to head to Texas where I had family. Honestly my encounter with Dr. Azimuddin can only be described as ‘A Blessing’. In a nutshell, we emailed him in the evening for an urgent appointment given my level of pain. Dr. Azzimuddin diagnosed and resolved my issue in 2 weeks, that had been on going for 7 months. Although he is a surgeon his first statement was not let?s cut you open and see what we find (as I had been told by another surgeon)! His test showed the issue immediately. my intestines had a hole made from mesh from a previous surgery which resulted in my body creating a fistula. He scheduled surgery, operated, and fixed the issue, that was in Sept. 2015. More
